Love the personalization ideas, and +1 on the video capture. I think it's about 1/2 cent per AUR in USD. 5 AUR would be pretty good for 1 minute. I would expect CCP to charge more than that, since it would require substantial work as a feature. Would you pay for it at 10 cents a minute? 50 cents?

Pretty sure they're already planning on doing this for free, but thanks for giving them the idea to charge us for it.

Sorry, I'm confused--why are you here? Just to insult the developers? |

I would also like to put a shooting range in my merc quarter even for more than 200 AUR. :) Awesome. I love the idea of playing a song, like you have your own personal "victory song" that plays out of your PS3 music library when you win. It doesn't affect anyone else's game, but it gives you a personalized shot of adrenaline at the end of a match.
Shooting range would probably cost a lot more than 200 AUR...more like 1000 AUR, and then you can personalize it with special kinds of targets. OR--marry it with the idea of a VR trainer, where you have a simulator that comes standard for everyone, but now you have a whole new realm of customization! Buy VR modules that you can swap in and out to give you different kinds of targets, different simulation types, etc.

At most, if they add in EVE's character creator, you'd get a basic set of clothes for your character it's in his or her quarters. Beyond that, all the cosmetic stuff should be paid for, 100% of it. This is how Dust will make its money. Giving any of it away for free isn't a good idea.
I think what Khun-Al was going for was that certain patterns in certain environments will be too similar to camouflage and therefore smell too much like a combat advantage. I'm not sure whether I agree with that, but that's what I think Khun-Al is saying.
Some good ideas in this thread. |
